One item on the program was a guided tour of the HIH laboratories:
Tour 1 “Neurons Meet Microglia — Inside the Hauser & Kronenberg‑Versteeg Labs” by Dr. Deborah Kronenberg-Versteeg and Dr. Stefan Hauser.
Tour 2 “Automated Human iPSC-Derived Neuron Models and Screening Platforms for Neurodegenerative Diseases” by Ashutosh Dhingra.
This was followed by the presentation of the “HIH Paper of the Year Award”. The award recognizes the best scientific publication of the previous year from the HIH and went to Dr. Liu Peng from the “Translational Imaging of Cortical Microstructure” department of Prof. Kühn for her publication „Layer-specific changes in sensory cortex across the lifespan in mice and humans“ in the journal Nature Neuroscience.

As the sun came out, numerous employees gathered in front of the DZNE. After the award ceremony, food from the buffet and refreshing drinks lured for a cozy get-together.
