Parkinson’s disease: the most important answers

In late April, Frank Elstner announced his Parkinson’s disease. Next to the television host, there are about 400,000 people in Germany suffering from the incurable chronic illness of the nervous system.Professor Dr. Thomas Gasser answers the most important questions about Parkinson’s disease in an interview with the Hertie Foundation. He emphasizes the relevance of drug-free therapies like physiotherapy, logopedics, sport or social activities in the treatment. The neurologist—who focuses on neurodegenerative diseases—does not see a cure within sight. „But I consider it possible to prevent the outbreak or at least postpone the onset considerably.”
