Advanced iPSC models and Organoid lab

In recent years, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC), as well as iPSC-derived organoids and cellularly complex 3D models have emerged as great tools for modelling many of the cellular aspects of neurological diseases and revolutionising drug screening. The HIH ‘Advanced iPSC models and organoid lab’ is a newly established shared facility dedicated to human iPSC, organoids, and cellularly complex 3D models.

The facility promotes cross departmental interaction and sharing of know-how, making these new technologies easier accessible to scientists within the HIH.

The state-of-the-art facility features specialized equipment including for example an EVOS M5000 fluorescent imaging system, orbital shakers for organoid cultures, and a hypoxia incubator that can be utilized to enhance reprogramming efficiency and mimic early developmental conditions.
