Prof. Dr. Lisa Sevenich is head of the "Experimental Neuro-Onco-Immunology" research group at the HIH. Her working group is part of the iFIT Cluster of Excellence, whose funding has been extended for another seven years. In this interview, she explains how closely the immune and nervous systems are intertwined, what role immunology plays in the fight against brain tumors, why research into brain metastases has been neglected for so long, and why the microbiome in particular is raising new hope for future therapies.
