How does sense of touch work?

The largest sensory organ of humans is the skin. It is responsible for many stimuli such as pressure, temperature or pain. Feeling is not about one single sense, but many different things are activated. This is called the somatosensory system. It consists of about 20 different types of receptors that send information to the brain. In its new video from the popular "Dr. Mondino" series, the Hertie Foundation deals with the topic of touch and how it is processed in the brain.
